Cbank says to hold extraordinary key rate meeting on Tuesday

MOSCOW, Aug 14 (PRIME) -- The board of directors of Russia’s central bank will hold an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday, the regulator said on Monday.

“On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, the board of directors of the central bank will meet to discuss the key rate. The press release on the decision will be issued at 10:30 a.m. Moscow time,” the authority said.

The ruble grew by 71 kopecks to 98.72 against the U.S. dollar as of 5:37 p.m. Moscow time thanks to the announcement. Earlier in the day, the ruble fell to 101.75 against the dollar.

The next planned meeting of the board of directors is scheduled for September 15.
